Some clients can make you. Other clients quite literally made you. When Beth, founder of Sandpiper Beach Glass and of… well, me, inquired about creating a visual identity for her artisanal beach glass business I waved all fees and got to right to work.*

*I don’t work for free but she is actually my mother and cosigned on a bunch of my student loans and you might think it’s embarrassing to have a project you did for your mom in your portfolio but wouldn’t it be more embarrassing if I did design work for my mom that I wasn’t proud enough of to put in my portfolio?
